Accomplishments: Gossett Football House Expansion
The Gossett Football Team House (GFTH) expansion project improved the University of
Maryland's football facility's ability to meet the needs of our student-athletes and recruits through
the expansion of four components:
- Expanded Academic Support and Career Development Unit (ASCDU);
- New Recruit Meeting Room/Dining Facility with Kitchen;
- New Team Meeting Auditorium;
- Expanded Entrance and Lobby
The GFTH expansion and construction came at a critical time for the University of Maryland
athletic program. Without these improvements, we would have continued to trail behind our peer
institutions in terms of quality facilities. Quality facilities attract outstanding student
athletes, great crowds, committed fans and a tremendous amount of energy and excitement.
Without improvement and enhancement of the football physical plant, we would not have been able to
recruit the caliber of students who make Maryland Football exciting, competitive and a
source of pride for the citizens of Maryland.
The expansion and new construction created 15,500 additional square feet of space to the Gossett Football
Team House. The photos below showcase many of the improvements made to the facility.
