1892
- Maryland, at the time known as Maryland Agricultural College, plays its first football game.
1895
- Maryland does not field a team.
1911
- H.C. "Curley" Byrd takes over as head coach (1911-1934).
1920
- Maryland plays in the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
1921
- Maryland joins the Southern Conference (1921-1951).
1937
- Maryland wins Southern Conference championship.
