• Maryland defeats then #13 Virginia, 19-13.

1947

• Jim Tatum takes over as head coach.
• Maryland ties Georgia in the Gator Bowl, 20-20.

1949

• Maryland defeats then #15 Boston University, 14-13.
• Maryland defeats #20 Missouri in the Gator Bowl, 20-7.
• Maryland finishes season ranked #14 in the final AP poll.
